Addison is the Engineering Partner at Pear VC. He wears many hats, crafting portfolio-driving software, advising entrepreneurs on product and engineering strategy, and focusing on technical investments.
Before Pear, Addison held roles in product management, software engineering, and product design. He is also the former founder and CTO of Cadence, a startup that built AI-driven productivity software, and former president of Mach One Music, an independent record label focused on helping its roster of over 30 up-and-coming artists refine and discover their unique sound.
At the moment, Addison still holds the title of “most roles held at Pear”. He is a former Pear Garage member, Pear Fellow, Engineer in Residence, Operating Partner, and current Director of Engineering.
Addison is based in San Francisco. He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Symbolic Systems, an amalgam of computer science, philosophy, psychology, and linguistics.

What career path did you want to pursue when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a LEGO Master Builder (the people who design and build the huge LEGO sculptures at LEGOLAND). It seemed like a really good idea at the time.
What are your favorite sports teams?
I’m not popular enough to have a favorite sports team. 🙃
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I love to write, produce, and listen to music! 🎧🎹🎺🎸 Mostly making Alt-Rock/Electronic, but I used to be a Dubstep producer 😅.
You can catch me playing (or sometimes coaching) tennis on sunny days 🎾, cooking/baking up a storm on rainy days 🥘, and making lit latte art in the time in between ☕️. I also enjoy making 3D animation 🎬, running 🏃, making candy and ice cream 🍨, crafting fun cocktails 🥃, and taking care of my urban garden 🌱.
