Udit became interested in startups as a high-schooler in India after he read a book about Google’s origins. Motivated, he picked a problem close to his heart and grew an Edtech startup to 50,000 users within the year. Udit immigrated to the U.S. to pursue undergraduate studies at Yale, where he wrote code for startups like Quora and crunched data to quantify progress on climate change. He was an investor at the Dorm Room Fund and partnered with 10 startups, now valued at $600M+. Prior to Pear, he was the CTO of Snackpass.
At Pear, Udit specializes in Web3, enterprise investing, and dev tools. He strives to be a startup’s #1 supporter when the going gets tough, and the #1 critic when the going gets good.
Udit is based in California and holds a BA from Yale in Computer Science and Statistics.

What’s your favorite book?
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein. The story of a people’s struggle for freedom, told with wit and creativity keeps me coming back to this page-turner.
What career path did you want to pursue when you were a kid?
A boyhood love of adventure plus a nerdy love for the technical drew me to racing in Formula 1 or blasting off to space as an astronaut! Some would argue that the startup world is a close enough approximation :)
What are your favorite sports teams?
Tough to pick just one! I have the deepest of respect for Lewis Hamilton. He lives his values along with his ambition to win. But I just can’t shake my love and support for the underdog. So now, I’m more often rooting for the younger and hungrier of the two, Max Verstappen.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I appreciate the simple pleasures in life. Getting lost in nature’s beauty or just having a fun time with old friends puts a big smile on my face!
