Khalil Fuller
Partner & Head of Dorm
“I aspire to be the easy call for founders when things are hard. The messiest, amorphous early days that scare most investors are what excite me.”

Khalil is a multi-time founder. The companies he has started have cumulatively reached over $100M in revenue and 5M+ users. Outside of work you’ll find me…
I spend a lot of time in nature; trail running, cycling, backcountry skiing, etc. Fun fact: My first word was backpack (well, more accurately “bahh-pak”). My parents used to load me into a backpack and go for walks every evening on the nearby trails in the Santa Monica mountains, and my first intelligible worldly request was for more time outside. I am (in)famous in my friend group for my collection of domain names. I never buy speculatively, only when I have an idea! Don’t ask how many I own 🫣 I am a student of the game and love reading and learning about company building.

What is your most used emoji?
🙌🏽 Multi-purpose. A classic.
What’s your favorite book?
I am named after the poet Khalil Gibran. His book The Prophet has been a touchstone throughout my life.
What career path did you want to pursue when you were a kid?
Besides my dreams of playing in the NHL, I always knew I was going to be an entrepreneur. I got hooked on the challenge and thrill of creating something from nothing at a young age when I realized I could buy a 30-pack of candy bars from Costco for $12 and sell them for $1 each at recess the next day. Pretty decent margins for a middle-school kid!
What are your favorite sports teams?
Lakers!

As a generalist investor, I am excited to meet founders across industries who are taking the first few steps of their startup journey. You may be a domain expert or a complete outsider coming at something with a fresh perspective, but if you have fallen in love with a problem area and cannot rest until you drive to ground truth and engineer a dramatic improvement, let’s talk. I am drawn to founders who balance conviction in their abilities with a curiosity to continually improve, who default to action and have a ridiculously high degree of agency, and who know that building anything great requires a stellar team and a lot of hard work. Let’s get going.
