Controller
Before joining Pear, Xiaoying spent three years as Assistant Controller at STG, a mid-market private equity firm, working on fund accounting and operations. Earlier, she spent ten years in public accounting focusing on venture capital and private equity tax.
Xiaoying lives in the Bay Area with her husband, their six-year-old son, and two cats. She holds a BS in Accounting from San Francisco State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in California (inactive).

Childhood dream job
I was obsessed with medical dramas when I was a kid and had always dreamed of becoming a medical doctor. In pursuit of that dream, I eventually became an accountant.
favorite sports teams
My husband is a football fan, and I watch with him occasionally. Therefore, his teams became mine (sort of): Penn State, Steelers and the 49ers. I enjoy watching tennis, swimming and diving a lot.
