Prior to joining Pear, he was an early employee and CRO at three venture-backed startups, including Second Measure, Pipe, and Turnstile, helping build each from the seed stage. Second Measure was acquired by Bloomberg, where Ryan went on to lead alternative data strategy in the Office of the CTO, and Pipe was last valued at $2B.
He also co-founded Dash Fund, an inception stage FinTech venture fund that invested in 57 startups across two funds and deployed $30M in capital.
Ryan began his career at JPMorgan and graduated from William & Mary, where he double majored in Finance and History while playing Division I soccer.

Childhood dream job
I was pretty set on being a pilot as a kid. My first job, though, was as a paperboy – and somehow my parents convinced me to open a Roth IRA at age 8 with that income. That’s when I got the investing bug, which led me to major in Finance and start out in banking. I’m not a pilot yet…but there’s still time!
