Join Pear VC’s Aparna Sinha for the next edition of our Perspectives in AI fireside chat series. Our guest is Edward Hu inventor of Low Rank Adaptation (LoRA) and μTransfer. LoRA has emerged as the go-to technique for efficient finetuning and inference time selection of task specific models. This technique is key to scaling Generative AI in Enterprises. Edward also invented μTransfer to principly transfer the optimal hyper-parameters across different sized Neural Nets. μTransfer makes the hyper-parameter tuning of models with billions or trillions of parameters effortless and drastically improves the stability and reliability of large-scale pretraining. He worked as a researcher at Microsoft and collaborated with OpenAI, CMU, and others to develop these groundbreaking techniques. Most recently Edward has been working with his PhD advisor, Turing Award winner, Professor Yoshua Bengio on Scaling AI through Reasoning. Join us as we peer into the future of AI with Edward Hu!
