Harris Stolzenberg

Partner

“All I want is all you got.”

Harris is a Partner at Pear. Based in Boston, he is focused on making Pear the go-to early stage firm on the East Coast. He thrives when working alongside ambitious founders at the very earliest stages, rolling up his sleeves to help turn bold ideas into enduring companies.

Harris returns to Pear as a partner after previously working at Pear as an associate. He touched many different parts of the Pear ecosystem before this full circle transition. After a quick stint in investment banking, he joined Pando, a Pear portfolio company. He later caught the founder bug and left to start his own Pear-backed startup.

Originally from South Florida, Harris headed north to attend MIT where he was a dual-sport athlete in lacrosse and football. After living in both San Francisco and New York, he chose to plant roots in Boston.

Outside of work you’ll find me…

Trying new restaurants in Boston. I have a great list if anyone needs recommendations! I also enjoy going to the gym, playing poker, and watching sports. On weekends during the summer, you can find me grilling meats with friends on a porch or rooftop.

Delivering Happiness

What career path did you want to pursue when you were a kid?

NFL quarterback. Unfortunately, my genetics had other plans for me.

What are your favorite sports teams?

I am a diehard Miami Dolphins fan 🐬. As a kid, I went to every home game with my dad and two younger brothers. We haven’t won a playoff game since I was 5 years old, so maybe I enjoy the torture? There’s always next year!

I take a generalist approach to investing, grounded in the belief that transformative, multi-billion-dollar companies can emerge from almost any sector. Historically, many of the most successful startups didn’t follow trends — they set them. They weren’t founded in “hot” categories; they redefined their categories entirely.

Because of that, I prioritize exceptional founders over specific ideas. Ideas change faster than people. The founders I’m drawn to have deep conviction, high velocity, and an instinct for where the world is going, not just where it is. I especially enjoy engaging at the earliest stages, when a company is still just a spark — a whiteboard and a dream. Startups are hard, and I look to back founders who are willing to break through walls to build something truly enduring.
