While some of these stories may sound old today, the grit, adaptability, resilience, and passion of those founders are key ingredients to building category-defining companies at any point in history.
What career path did you want to pursue when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a pilot. Traveling the world has always been a passion of mine.

There’s only one team: FC Barcelona! And one tennis player: Rafa Nadal.

Since my industry focus is B2B, I’m especially drawn to startups building technology that helps companies operate dramatically better. I love seeing innovative solutions that can transform the way businesses work today.
When it comes to founder attributes, I value a deep market awareness and customer-centric approach. Founders who deeply understand their customers’ needs, challenges, and goals—and can tailor their go-to-market and sales strategies accordingly—really stand out. It’s all about making every interaction with a potential client meaningful and impactful.
I also look for founders with a clearly articulated vision and outstanding storytelling ability. These skills are critical to seduce customers, attract top-tier talent, and win over investors. The ability to paint a compelling picture of the future makes all the difference in turning a great idea into a category-defining company.
Finally, I’m drawn to resilience, adaptability, and passion. Building a startup isn’t easy, it usually takes a lot longer than we plan, and grit is often what sets successful founders apart. I’m inspired by those who stay focused and determined even when the road gets tough. In short, I look for customer-focused, prepared, and passionate founders who combine a clear vision with strong storytelling—especially when they’re building game-changing B2B technology.
